For the second game in a row, turnovers cost the Dallas Vigilantes an opportunity to earn their first win in franchise history. Despite jumping out to a 38-21 lead early in the second half, the Vigilantes were the victim of two big turnovers that propelled Tulsa to a 63-59 win in Dallas’ first game in franchise history. Despite having a rare bye week to start the season, the Dallas Vigilantes’ coaching staff spent this past weekend completing the arduous task of identifying the pieces needed to win this season’s ArenaBowl championship, including making tough decisions in paring down the team’s training camp roster of 35 players to the mandatory 23-man regular-season roster. VIGILANTES OPEN TRAINING CAMP
The Dallas Vigilantes’ journey towards the 2010 ArenaBowl championship began early Monday morning when they kicked off their inaugural season with day one of training camp at Clark Stadium in Plano. The team practiced without pads from 7-10 a.m. while participating in mostly individual and 3-on-3 drills. (continue)

ARENA FOOTBALL LEAGUE RE-LAUNCHES
After a one-year hiatus, the Arena Football League (AFL) is poised for a triumphant return, according to league executives who unveiled the revitalized league in a teleconference today with media. The league announced plans for the upcoming season, advanced progress toward expanding into the Philadelphia, Southern California, Denver, and Pittsburgh markets, and detailed its contract with the NFL Network to broadcast AFL games in 2010.
