DALLAS, TX -- In what was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the season, Matt Fields’ one-handed catch (see the catch on YouTube) this past weekend against Tampa Bay was recognized league-wide on Tuesday when it was selected the Cutters Catch of the Week.
Fields, who finished the evening with five receptions for 75 yards and two touchdowns, went up and snared an errant Collin Drafts pass with just his right hand and cupped it to his side before being tackled midway through the third quarter.
“I’ve had some great catches before,” Fields said on Tuesday. “Some over the shoulder catches, sideway leaners, shoe-string grabs, but nothing as hyped and as exciting as that one on Friday.”
Fields has emerged this season as one of Dallas’ top receivers with 44 receptions, 540 yards and nine touchdowns in 10 games.
Despite his efforts, the Vigilantes could not hold on against the Storm and dropped to 1-12 on the season. Fields and the Vigilantes will look to snap a 10-game losing streak this Saturday when they travel to Chicago to take on the Rush.
